Icon metaphor fail

Started to use a new piece of hardware at the Navarra office today, which resulted in the following gem being added to the GNOME notification area. Would anyone care to guess what the following icon is supposed to represent?

  1. Nathan Myers says:

Speaking from a position of complete ignorance, I’d say it’s a button to download stuff to your iPod. If that’s correct, that does not mean it’s a good icon, not least because there’s something wrong when a Free Software project has an icon for iPods.

  2. Is it a monitor with a notebook running in clamshell mode? I have no idea.

It’s a laptop icon behind a save icon. Maybe representing backup software?
